SUMMARY
Responsible for inside sales and customer service activities regarding marine hardware and navigation lights, with special attention paid to delivery issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relations
Develop and maintain close positive relationships with key customers and prospects. Within company guidelines, develop these relationships primarily by phone, email and personal communications (at shows when requested).
Teamwork
Look for opportunities to improve efficiency, solve problems, make decisions and manage own area of responsibility. Effectively use resources provided by the company to accomplish that task. Lend any needed assistance to peers & management. Work as a team to attain goals.
Sales Representatives
Be aware of the efforts and methods of Perko's field sales representatives. Identify existing and potential problems and help to find solutions. From daily dealings with reps, consider performance, report on findings and provide technical support and guidance with products & programs. Assure that reps work in the best interest of Perko.
Programs & Promotions
Assist marketing with the development of programs and promotions with ideas. Look for opportunities and identify developing problems. Where possible, recommend adjustments. Attend local boat shows if requested.
Leadership
Work to continually improve moral, efficiency and productivity. Help other employees improve their skills.
Inside Sales Functions
This position requires answering incoming customer calls daily, entering orders, clerical duties, taking care of small order requests, maintaining the various logs (return requests, order entry error, customer complaint), making efforts to sell Perko items by phone, responding to emails in a timely manner, knowing our products in order to intelligently answer customer questions, etc. Study and understand the Perko catalog.

Call center or retail experience is not desirable for this position.
