Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Production Door Builder with hands-on experience in cutting down doors to custom sizes and assembling double doors. This role is essential to the daily operations of our manufacturing/shop floor and requires precision, efficiency, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in door assembly, woodworking, and measuring/cutting tools.(Cutdown & Double Door Experience Required)
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble single and double door units, including framing, hinging, and prepping for hardware.
- Perform accurate cutdowns to adjust doors to custom sizes as specified by work orders.
- Use power tools and woodworking machinery safely and effectively (e.g., table saws, miter saws, panel saws, routers, drills, etc.).
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality and consistency.
- Maintain clean and organized work area; follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines.
- Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic door fit and alignment issues.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in door manufacturing or carpentry, including cutdown and double door experience.
- Strong understanding of door construction, wood types, and related hardware.
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and work instructions accurately.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Team player with a good work ethic and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with pre-hung doors, slabs, and jamb assembly.
- Familiarity with fire-rated and custom doors.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
