Cimarron is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
Key Duties:
- Support mission-oriented cybersecurity using technical expertise.
- Engineer systems to operate with required security features in place.
- Perform manual and automated scans to ensure compliance with RMF accreditations issued by the MDA Authorizing Official.
- Fulfill Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) reporting requirements and ensure appropriate security patches are applied.
- Manage System Security Plan documentation in eMASS and maintain POA&Ms in accordance with RMF continuous monitoring requirements.
- Review RMF Control Compliance Indicators (CCI) and track corrective actions until closure.
- Apply cybersecurity principles to develop configuration management solutions that strengthen system security.
- Understand and support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Certification and Accreditation process.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time.

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Security Clearance (or higher).
- Ability to thoroughly document work and adhere to DoD and MDA-level enterprise processes and procedures.
- 4 or more years of general (full-time) work experience.
- 2 or more years of directly related experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% CONUS or OCONUS to support cybersecurity deployment or team efforts.
- Familiarity with Trellix/McAfee products, including HBSS, ESS, and ENS.
- Experience with eMASS, including updating POA&Ms in accordance with RMF continuous monitoring requirements.
- Experience with ACAS and possession of a current ACAS certification and/or account.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), War-games, and Exercises.
- Understanding of NIST 800-53 accreditation documentation and processes.
- Experience with multi-factor authentication technologies such as RSA and PKI.
- Familiarity with Common Criteria requirements and FIPS 140-2 standards.
- Experience with patch and vulnerability management, including Ports, Protocols, and Services Management.
- Familiarity with central log servers such as ELASTIC or ArcSight.
- Knowledge of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
- Experience using SCCM and WSUS for system updates and configuration.
- Understanding of Windows 10 update and patch management procedures.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
