About The Role
The Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of prescription orders. This primarily remote position requires strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work efficiently in a goal-driven environment. About The Role
The Pharmacy Technician – Data Entry plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of prescription orders. This primarily remote position requires strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to work efficiently in a goal-driven environment. You will be responsible for entering prescription data, verifying patient information, and communicating with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process an average of 250 new and refill prescriptions per day
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary information via phone, email, and fax (20-30 calls daily)
- Maintain and update patient records with precision and adherence to compliance requirements
- Verify accuracy of prescription and patient data to prevent errors
- Proactively identify and resolve data inaccuracies

Adhere to HIPAA and pharmacy regulatory standards
- Active pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) and licensure per Virginia Board of Pharmacy requirements
- 1-2 years of pharmacy or healthcare-related data entry experience preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient data confidentiality
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet productivity goals in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with pharmacists, providers, patients, and team members
- Proficiency with pharmacy software and systems, including troubleshooting

Experience with compounding pharmacies (503A/503B) or specialty pharmacy data entry is a plus
