Overview:
Schedule: Days with rotating weekends. 8 hour shifts.
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the preparation, distribution, control of sterile and non-sterile oral and injectable medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and participation in Division programs. There must be a final pharmacist check of all technician work involved in the preparation and/or dispensing of medications. Works toward effective, efficient use of all pharmacy resources. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ year related experience preferred. Knowledge and application of basic math skills including ratios and proportions. Knowledge of various Pharmacy dispensing systems and equipment. Minimum typing skills of 30 wpm with knowledge of various computer applications and systems.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician School or Advanced Degree preferred, California Pharmacy Technician License, CPhT and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB ) preferred.

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
