WHOLESALE and CATERING DELIVERY DRIVER
The Fika Table, Austin’s Nordic-inspired bakery, is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our bakery team!
Our Delivery Driver is our point person for making sure our bakery items are packaged correctly, delivered safely, accurately, and on-time for our coffee shop/retail partners and catering clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure correct and compliant packaging for every delivery order
- On-time, courteous, and accurate delivery to our wholesale and catering order clients
- Care, cleanliness, and safety in handling, transporting, and storing our bakery items at the client location
- Pickup of bakery supplies and delivery to kitchen
- Safe, defensive driving
- The ability to handle daily traffic, weather, and road challenges with patience
- Willing to use your personal vehicle (we reimburse mileage at $.60/mile in addition to hourly pay)
- Attention to detail and proactive communication if something is incorrect or does not meet our high standards
- Collaborate and communicate with other bakery team members when needed
- Treat our wholesale partners, catering clients, and kitchen staff with respect and care, they are part of our team, too!
Requirements:
- Must have own, reliable vehicle in good condition with valid insurance
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be 18+
- Clean driving record and must pass a background check
- Willing and able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to transport bakery items from our North Austin kitchen to clients in Austin, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock, and Hutto—and possibly other areas as we grow.
- Ability to work for 4 hr shift , including standing, loading vehicle, lifting delivery bags/boxes in and out of vehicle to designated client kitchens/cafes, which may include navigating stairs and other obstacles.
- Ability to pick up kitchen supply orders, checking for accuracy and communicating any issues to suppliers and/or bakery manager
- Represent and act in accordance with our company values of courtesy and safety while on the road, in our kitchen, and in client spaces
- Flexibility to handle changes in client needs
- Accuracy in delivery count
- Valid food handler’s certificate (if you do not yet have one, you will be required to obtain one prior to start date)
- Morning/daytime availability, some availability as needed for catering orders outside wholesale delivery hours (to be determined)
