A Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products (units/revenue). Creates and maintains forecast models by SKU for key accounts, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, and customers.


You will be responsible for...

  • Manage demand forecasts based on trends, seasonality, and promotions while factoring in channel inventory, in-stock %, and life cycle of products.
  • Analyze factors impacting demand for mobile accessory products (e.g., category trends, promotions, competitive products, seasonality, retail consumption, indirect channels), and build statistical models that quantify the business environment.
  • Lead collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment meetings with key accounts. Communicate material shortages and delays to appropriate customer contacts.
  • Cross functional collaboration. Partner with Sales, Product Management, Procurement, and customers to collectively make decisions that minimize the negative financial impact.
  • Achieve forecast accuracy, inventory, service level, and customer in-stock % targets and provide root cause for deltas.
  • Provide SKU level revenue and unit projections and prepare reports to identify key metrics.
  • Set Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) store minimum levels and RMA process. Management of customer location inventory levels by using statistical methods.
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to the position.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, sum-ifs, conditional formatting, lookups). Excel Certification a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: the ability to analyze situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present ideas in an easy-to-understand engaging manner.
  • Able to complete projects under tight deadlines, even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
  • Organized, detail-oriented; able to prioritize effectively.
  • Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

Required Education/ Experience

  • BA/BS degree, plus 2 years of supply chain experience; or 5 years of supply chain-related experience
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • 2 years of Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) management experience, retail allocation, retail fulfillment or similar are required.
  • 2 years of CPFR build and use required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This is a sedentary role; however, some light lifting is required. This would require the ability to lift a 10 lb. box, open the box, and bend or stand as necessary.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, in-office position. Normal business days are Monday through Friday. Work hours will be assigned in advance.


Travel

Up to 15% travel is expected for this position.
