This role is extremely important in ensuring a smooth workflow, exceeding patient expectations, and managing tasks effectively.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly when they arrive at our office.
- Answer phone calls from new patients and current patients with a positive, engaging attitude.
- Communicate with patients through our text-messaging system, phone calls, and e-mail.
- Manage the front office operations, including scheduling appointments and coordinating patient flow, and collecting co-pays.
- Ensure accurate patient records using software such as Dentrix and Adit.
- Collect information for insurance verification processes and ensure compliance with dental terminology and coding standards for insurance billing.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Foster a collaborative work environment.
- Maintain inventory of front desk office supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Implement office policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and patient care.
- Assist in financial management tasks related to billing and collections within the office.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical or dental office is preferred.
- Proficiency in Dentrix, Adit, or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, insurance verification processes, and dental coding for insurance billing. (Preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to accommodate diverse patient populations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Work Schedule
- We work 4 days per week – usually Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 7:30-5 and Thursday 7-3. About once per month we take off Monday and work Friday 7-2 instead.
