Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring the smooth running of our dental office. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various medical software systems, and a solid understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in processes
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) system opendental
- Manage multi-line phone systems, handling incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with insurance claims processing
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding
- Provide administrative support including filing, data entry, and clerical tasks as needed
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, care plans, and follow-up appointments
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure optimal patient care and office efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and typing proficiency (10 key typing is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
