Job Description
We are seeking a Crank and Bearings Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the design, development, release, and launch of core engine hardware components including crankshafts, bearings, balance shafts, and related systems. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers, execution of quality and validation processes, and support across multiple battery program milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, release, and launch crankshafts, bearings, balance shafts, and related hardware.
Partner with supply base on design, sourcing strategies, procurement, builds, and testing.
Execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and TKO deliverables.
Conduct engine teardown inspections and perform root cause analysis.
Complete DVP&R testing for approval of initial samples from production tooling.
Drive PPAP and safe launch activities.
Manage final validation and support key battery build milestones.
Oversee Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier deliverables and milestones.
Schedule and lead supplier meetings to resolve open engineering items, including design reviews, failure analysis, deliverables, sample orders, and manufacturing readiness.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines.
OEM experience with advanced quality tools (DFMEA, DVP&R, functional models).
Proficiency with NX CAD.
Experience releasing components at an OEM or large Tier 1 supplier.
Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
