Duties:
- Decorate cakes according to customer requests and specifications
- Create visually appealing designs using various icing techniques
- Use artistic skills to create custom cake decorations including flowers, cursive writing, scroll work, figures, and patterns
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines while handling and preparing food
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure timely completion of cake orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment used in decorating cakes
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
- Ability prepare a variety of cakes
- Proficient in food handling techniques, including proper storage, and labeling
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions for cake designs
- Creativity and artistic skills for creating unique cake decorations
- Experience in a culinary or bakery environment required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines for cake orders
