As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support to clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and within the community. This position requires a strong commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those you serve.
Job Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
- Support individuals with daily living skills (personal care, cooking, transportation, community integration).
- Encourage independence by teaching skills like money management, communication, and self-advocacy.
- Provide behavioral support and follow individual service plans.
- Assist with medication reminders (as permitted by state guidelines).
- Maintain accurate daily documentation and progress notes.
- Promote inclusion by supporting clients in community outings, work programs, and social activities.
- Ensure client safety, dignity, and respect at all times.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- 1+ year of experience as a DSP, PCA, CNA, or in a caregiving role (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and reference checks
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
