Job Description


The Strategic Program Director at Visa plays a crucial role in driving the success and growth of the organization. This individual will join the Strategic Initiatives and Transformation Office in Client Services, a team established to deliver the function’s top priorities. They will collaborate closely with various teams within Client Services and from other parts of Visa, including Sales, Legal, and Finance, to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

The Strategic Program Director is responsible for overseeing and managing delivery of high-priority programs that align with Client Services’ goals and objectives. This role requires exceptional project and program management capabilities and the ability to drive collaboration and influence across multiple organizations and functions.

Day to day responsibilities include strategic planning, project management and status reporting, data and analytical insights development, thought leadership, executive business reviews, and other business operations activities. The Strategic Program Director works in close partnership with other project and workstream leads, leadership, and Client Services executives. The individual will also work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leaders to ensure successful program implementation and drive business growth.

The ideal candidate will be an intellectually curious strategic thinker with outstanding execution capabilities, preferably ideally with a background in management consulting, business operations, and payments/fintech.

This position is full-time. Preferred location is Miami, FL. We will also consider candidates in Atlanta and Austin.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design and lead execution and delivery of strategic programs that align with Client Services’ objectives and goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring successful execution and delivery of program plans, timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address key issues and risks, ensuring the smooth execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct regular analysis and evaluation of program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Monitor and manage program budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control, if applicable.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure program success.
  • Develop of program documentation, including project plans, reports, and presentations, including executive-facing presentations.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.


Qualifications


Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD (experience with financial services focused on payments or comparable experience preferred).
  • Proven record in managing and delivering complex projects and programs.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, effectively collaborating with all organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Superior presentation skills and executive presence.
  • Success in developing and executing global strategies within a matrixed organization.
  • Motivated self-starter working well under tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, adept at multi-tasking and evolving priorities.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and eager to learn other online tools.
  • Passionate about building processes, continuous improvement, and transforming while working with colleagues at a leading global payments company.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,700 to 220,850 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
