The Ellington Board of Education invites interested candidates to apply for the position of Director of Athletics and Wellness with an anticipated start date TBD
The Director of Athletics and Wellness for the Ellington Public Schools is responsible for the overall administration of the middle and high school athletic programming. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of Ellington’s student-athletes while fostering the development of interscholastic competitive sportsmanship. In addition, the Director will infuse the concept of holistic healthy living within Ellington’s physical education and health curriculum.

- Proof of Connecticut Intermediate Administrator and Supervisor certification (CT 092) and Connecticut Department of Education Coaching Permit
- Certification experience or background in health/physical education preferable but not required

The position is part of the Ellington Administrators’ Association collective bargaining agreement. Salary range is $138,858 - $154,287
The Ellington Board of Education has implemented a new policy permitting children of full or part-time employees to enroll in Ellington High School and/or Middle School for grades 7–12.
