Arkansas Trailer is seeking an experienced Director of Fabrication amp; Engineering to lead our fabrication shop, oversee engineering initiatives, and drive innovation across our product and service lines. This role is responsible for managing a skilled team of welders, fabricators, and engineers while ensuring high-quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient production. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, proven leadership ability, and a commitment to excellence in custom trailer fabrication and engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for the fabrication and engineering departments.
Oversee daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
Develop and implement engineering strategies for custom trailer design and modifications.
Collaborate with sales and service teams to meet customer specifications and project deadlines.
Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for fabrication and engineering projects.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Drive continuous improvement in processes, materials, and production methods.
Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to support professional growth.
Work with executive leadership to support long-term business growth and innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of experience in fabrication, welding, or heavy equipment engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of trailer fabrication, metalworking, and mechanical systems.
Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, and teams effectively.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
