Job Overview
The Director of Financial Operations will serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, overseeing aspects of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, long range planning and the Revenue Cycle. This role will provide financial leadership across our company, ensuring data-driven decision-making, strong fiscal discipline, and the financial infrastructure needed to scale. The Director of Financial Operations will lead the development of financial strategies to support growth initiatives and deliver on our long-term objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance liaison to operational, clinical, and business development leaders, providing strategic recommendations and financial guidance.
- Partner with other cross-functional teams to develop, support, and improve the systems, policies, and procedures necessary to drive efficiency and provide meaningful financial data
- Drive multi-year financial planning, integrating growth strategies, capital allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Drive enterprise-wide budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to forecast performance under various scenarios, supporting proactive decision-making.
- Deliver actionable insights through comprehensive variance analysis, performance metrics, and KPI dashboards.
- Partner with clinical and operational teams to identify cost drivers, optimize medical expense management, and improve quality-based incentive performance.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new payer contracts, partnerships, and service line expansions.
- Assess business development opportunities, potential acquisitions, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence and ROI analysis.
- Present financial scenarios and recommendations to the executive team and Owners.
- Ensure that investment decisions are backed by robust financial and operational analyses.
- Manage and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Implement best practices in financial operations, reporting, and analytics.
- Oversee the completion of month-end processes and ensure timely execution of all end-of-month (EOM) tasks.
- Regularly report payer, denial, reimbursement, and accounts receivable (A/R) trends to executive leadership.
- Identify and escalate potential revenue issues and recommend actionable solutions.
- Direct and oversee the operations of the Revenue Cycle, ensuring effective revenue cycle management.
- Consistently dive into industry trends and best practices in strategic finance.
Experience / Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required, Master’s Degree in a related field a plus.
- 5+ years business experience in the healthcare industry required.
- 7+ years of experience processing information and distilling it down to concrete business recommendations with supporting rationale.
- Successful record of accomplishment in evaluating business and year over year growth.
- You proactively perform strategic analysis and make recommendations that shape the future of the business.
- You build strong relationships with executive stakeholders.
- You possess a collaborative style with the willingness to communicate technical concepts on a level that others without a finance background can understand.
- You take pride in what you do. You care deeply about building and automating financial operation practices for the long-term.
- You are an expert in developing and maintaining financial models whether in Excel or a planning tool.
- Strong understanding of reimbursement models, payer requirements, and healthcare revenue cycle operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
