As the Director of Marketing & Business Development, you will embrace the opportunity to lead all sales and marketing-related activities for our resort. In this role, you will analyze market trends, develop proactive strategies, and implement initiatives to maximize revenue and market share. You will be responsible for creating accurate sales reports, managing marketing budgets, and preparing long-term business development plans. With a focus on driving competitive positioning, you will lead a high-performing team to deliver results and enhance guest and client relationships.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervise, administer, and ensure timely completion of all Sales & Marketing Department activities.
Develop and maintain market awareness to anticipate revenue opportunities and implement proactive strategies.
Meet or exceed established sales and marketing goals.
Operate within established sales and marketing budgets, monitoring account production and market trends.
Develop strategies to increase market share when revenue penetration goals are not met.
Utilize sales management systems to manage accounts, track performance, and generate reports.
Prepare accurate monthly reports and coordinate the annual Sales & Marketing Plan.
Ensure compliance with company sales policies, SOPs, and brand standards.
Support business development initiatives by identifying and cultivating new opportunities.
React to negative marketplace trends through promotions, blitzes, or targeted strategies.
Hotel Specific:
Must be flexible to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
Represent the hotel at local and national industry events to build relationships and expand the business pipeline.
Physical Demands:
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Frequent standing and walking, with occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Perform other duties as required, including participation in VIP events and staff meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of progressive hotel sales/marketing experience; OR 4 years with a bachelor’s degree; OR 5 years with a 2-year degree.
Previous supervisory experience required.
Proficiency in hotel industry technology systems required.
Valid driver’s license required.
