Director of Music Ministries – Shape & Lead Vibrant Worship at JupiterFIRST
JupiterFIRST Church seeks a creative and passionate music leader who will shape vibrant, intergenerational worship rooted in musical excellence, joyful participation, and artistic expression. Our blended services weave sacred and contemporary music—hymns, gospel, pop, jazz, and rock—to inspire all ages. We are prayerfully preparing the stage so this Director of Music Ministries can carry the vision forward, bringing fresh ideas and Spirit-led energy while nurturing volunteers and professionals alike and inspiring Sundays that echo far beyond the sanctuary.

A skilled musician with an active faith, heart for worship, a gift for building community, and a vision for music excellence that connects and inspires while being accessible and inviting participation. Fluent in sacred and secular styles with a love to explore new expressions while honoring tradition. Natural collaborator with ministers, staff, and volunteers who recruits, mentors, and leads with joy.
Key Responsibilities Lead Inspiring Worship
- Guide the choir with compassionate rehearsal leadership and relational support, fostering a joyful, caring community whose music lifts the congregation in worship.
- Select, arrange/compose, and lead music aligned with sermon themes and liturgical seasons across genres.
- Direct and rehearse choirs, bands, and ensembles of all abilities; lead from piano, guitar, or other instruments.
- Craft blended worship that’s uniquely JupiterFIRST.
Collaboration
- Partner with Co-Lead Pastors on weekly and seasonal worship planning.
- Coordinate with the Tech Director on sound, lighting, and live video broadcast.
- Work closely with the Communications Director to align visuals, lyrics, service flow, andaesthetic goals.
- Plan and lead music for weddings, funerals, concerts, and community events.
Grow and Nurture Musical Community
- Actively recruit and mentor volunteer musicians of all ages.
- Hire and collaborate with professional musicians as needed.
- Explore arrangements/approaches/models for worship leadership
Administrative
- Oversee the music ministry budget and music inventory (including maintenance and future growth).
- Schedule rehearsals and communicate with participants using Planning Center and related tools.
- Fully participate in church life—staff meetings, retreats, and care for fellow team members.
Qualifications
- A Christian faith aligned with JupiterFIRST’s inclusive, grace-centered theology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music (or equivalent), with experience leading blended worship.
- Skilled multi-instrumentalist (piano/keys or guitar preferred) and confident vocalist.
- Proven ability to arrange, conduct, improvise, and write for diverse instrumentation.
- Proficient in worship software (Planning Center, ProPresenter, Proclaim).
- Familiarity with live production: sound, lighting, and video broadcast.
- Strong mentoring, team-building, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with creative energy who thrives in collaboration.
- Able to pass a background check.
Compensation & Hours
- This is a full-time position.
- Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

- Christmas Eve and Easter Sundays are required.
