We are partnered with a residential construction company to find a hands-on, forward-thinking Director of Residential Construction to lead day-to-day operations across all homebuilding projects. This critical leadership role will serve as the President’s right hand, overseeing construction execution, ensuring quality standards, and building a strong, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all active residential construction projects, each managed by a superintendent and support team
- Manage project scheduling, site coordination, quality control, and warranty service to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Partner with the President on operations planning and company growth initiatives
- Review site plans, budgets, construction schedules, and monitor field progress
- Ensure field teams are accountable for performance, compliance, and timeline goals
- Support hiring, training, and development of construction personnel
- Act as a liaison between office and field teams to drive communication and issue resolution
- Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement
- Help review and improve internal construction processes
- Occasionally assist in reviewing estimates
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in residential construction, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong hands-on knowledge of the homebuilding process, including site development and field coordination
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and field staff simultaneously
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in an office-based role with regular site visits within the Hampton Roads area
- Ambition for long-term leadership growth and close collaboration with executive leadership
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
