Position Summary
The Director of Parish Development and Stewardship educates, invites, and inspires parishioners to practice stewardship as an expression of active discipleship by sharing their time, talent, and financial giving. The Director is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of all fundraising activities, gift solicitation and stewardship, for the school and the church. Other responsibilities include database management, communications and constituent relations activities that create a supportive climate for school/parish growth.
Responsibilities
· Plan, manage, and implement annual giving, major gifts, and as needed capital campaigns. This includes but is not limited to prospect identification and research, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, database management, acknowledgments, and stewardship.
· Educate and engage key volunteers (e.g., Parents Association) in implementing mission-based fundraising and participation in school/church events.
· Responsible for the planning, management, promotion, and implementation of all fundraising and fund-raising initiatives including donor appreciation dinners, the school’s Annual Fund, managing the bi-annual Anchor Ball, implementing steps for students and alumni to support the parish and parishioner events, and managing donor recognition and appreciation efforts.
· Works to create and support a culture of philanthropy within the school and parish.
- Constituent and Alumni Relations: Identify, recruit, and engage volunteers for development and enrollment efforts including prospects, parents, alumni, grandparents, students, faculty and staff, new parishioners, etc.
- Educates and accompanies our growing young adult community in the tenets of active discipleship, particularly around financial giving.
· Collaborates with other members of the staff and parish volunteers in strengthening the mission of Saint Clement.
· Promote understanding, acceptance and support of the vision and mission statements, and objectives of the school and parish.
· All other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
· Passionate about and committed to the Mission of the Catholic Church, Saint Clement, and the Archdiocese of Chicago.
· Demonstrates understanding, respect and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values.
· Practicing Catholic.
· Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic education.
· Strong Fundraising and gift solicitation background.
· Experience in enrollment management, development, sales, marketing, communication, and/or volunteer management.
· Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals.
· Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers.
· Ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, alumni, donors, school administration, parish councils, parishioners, and community organizations.
· Culturally astute with ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with people from varied social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
· Exceptional project management and detail-oriented skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and data base systems.
· Availability for overtime, evening, or weekend work.
· Working knowledge of communications strategies and social media techniques.
· Experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment preferred.
· Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
