As we continue to grow, we are seeking a forward-thinking Director of Technology and Innovation to lead and drive operational excellence through technology. The hired candidate will work primarily in our office in Houston, Texas and report directly to our Managing Partner.
About the Role:
Lead Technology Strategy
- Fully understand and improve our firm-wide technology roadmap.
- Maintain and improve our existing legal technology resources.
- Develop and implement a strategy to accomplish our goal of being a leader in legal technology implementation.
- Align tech initiatives with business goals and legal operations.
Drive Innovation
- Introduce cutting-edge tools (AI, automation, analytics) to improve workflows.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Oversee IT Infrastructure
- Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable systems.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with data privacy laws.
Manage Projects
- Lead software rollouts, upgrades, and system integrations.
- Track project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics.
Support and Train Staff
- Provide training on new tools and systems.
- Offer ongoing tech support and troubleshooting of legal technology systems.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of IT leadership experience, ideally in legal or professional services. Alternatively, in lieu of experience, a demonstrated ability to provide excellent technology leadership for our firm.
- Experience with cybersecurity, compliance, and data privacy.
- Experience with agentic AI development and deployment using Microsoft Foundry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with e-discovery and litigation support tools.
- Project Management certification (PMP, Agile) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Filevine legal tech platform.
