How You'll Contribute:
As a Disbursement Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in providing high-quality customer service by leading the processing of complex financial transactions such as withdrawals, surrenders, 1035 exchanges, qualified transfers, and life loans. You’ll collaborate closely with Inforce Administration, IT, and other departments to ensure accuracy and compliance, and to support continuous process improvement. You will also serve as a mentor, trainer, and technical expert within the team.
What You'll Do:
Provide technical leadership on complex and escalated disbursement and financial transaction issues.
Train team members on processes, procedures, regulatory requirements, and tax implications.
Perform quality reviews to ensure consistency, compliance, and service excellence.
Analyze workflows and contribute to enhancements for improved efficiency.
Partner with IT to coordinate and test administrative system updates.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and management regarding exceptions or system gaps.
Lead or facilitate department meetings and special projects.
Maintain documentation of process updates and procedural changes.
Monitor and report on production and individual performance metrics.
Support customer service initiatives by reviewing complaints, escalations, reversals, and corrections.
Collaborate with Policy Administration and other departments as needed.
What You'll Bring:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of life and annuity insurance experience.
3+ years of experience in processing financial transactions.
Preferred: 4+ years in life and/or annuity insurance.
Preferred: Experience specifically with annuity disbursements and transactions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication, with a customer-first mindset.
Comfortable handling sensitive or escalated customer interactions with professionalism.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and shift priorities quickly.
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to proprietary systems.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

- Must be able to sit and use hands for fine manipulation continuously throughout the workday.

- Minimal to no travel required.
- On-site location: West Des Moines, Iowa; this role is eligible for mostly off-site/remote work.
