Mans Best Friend Dog Training has recently acquired Starr Pet Resort. A dedicated and professional dog care facility focused on the health, happiness, and behavioral development of every dog in our care. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, enriching environment for dogs while supporting their training and growth with positive reinforcement methods.
We are seeking a dependable, energetic, and dog-savvy individual to join our team the role of Dog Trainer / kennel attendant. This role is ideal for someone passionate about canine care and behavior who is comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments in both a boarding and training setting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting individual training sessions using a balanced approach.
- Implementing and reinforcing behavior plans
- Working on basic obedience, and socialization.
- Communicating clearly with clients about training goals and progress
- Assisting in group training classes and one on one sessions.
- Feeding, cleaning, and caring for dogs in our facility
- Monitoring health and behavior during stays
- Cleaning kennels and maintaining a sanitary environment
- Supervising group play and ensuring safe dog interactions
- Customer service during check-in and check-out
Qualifications:
- Previous dog training experience required.
- Strong understanding of dog body language and behavior
- Ability to safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
Pay & Schedule:
- Hourly wage: $20–$25 depending on experience
- Weekend availability is required
- Flexible scheduling available, with potential for growth
