ICT SOS aims to end human trafficking through prevention and awareness education, advocacy for survivors, and acting as a bridge between direct service professionals and community members who desire to help.
Job Overview
The Education Facilitator will work alongside other Education Facilitators and Practicum Students and under the supervision of the ICT SOS Education Coordinator and Executive Director to provide human trafficking awareness education programs to students in Wichita and surrounding areas. The Education Facilitator will work closely with teachers, social workers and partner agencies to enhance personal knowledge about this issue and to continually update and improve the education program. The Education Facilitator may also provide the education program to adult professionals across Wichita and train organizations in other areas of Kansas to expand the education program to students across Kansas. This position exists to help the education program continue to expand in a manner that aligns with the agency's mission and vision.
Responsibilities and Duties
Facilitate the ICT SOS human trafficking awareness education program in middle school, high school and college classrooms.
Collect and analyze pre-, post-test, and evaluation data from classes.
Complete debriefing after each session
Collect teacher feedback forms and share with the education team.
Share data, debriefing, and important information with the ICT SOS team. Contribute to board reports as necessary.
Create and share school summary reports in a timely manner.
Support practicum students to become co-facilitators of education programs.
Partner with the Education Coordinator to facilitate human trafficking awareness education program to professional groups in Wichita and across Kansas.
Support distribution of film and creation of facilitation guides.
Help lead and facilitate education programming each month to the student advisory board.
Assist with writing grants to increase education and organization capacity.
Provide Data as necessary
Create narratives as necessary
Engage and support fundraising, outreach, agency development events and efforts.
Attend staff meetings, supervision, training, and participate in multidisciplinary collaboration.
Assist Education Coordinator & other facilitators as needed.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but an Associate’s degree and experience in a relevant discipline will be considered.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Polished, experienced communicator and facilitator with the capacity to engage diverse constituencies.
Excellence in building and maintaining positive relationships with community partners, volunteers and team members.
Ability to establish rapport with adolescent youth and discuss difficult topics.
Demonstrate personal computer skills and the willingness to learn in the use of a suite of software tools (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
Proficient public speaking and presentation skills.
Efficient task and time management skills.
Professional appearance and courteous manner.
Willingness to collaborate on projects and work with a team.
Must be enthusiastic about community-based work and youth development.
Must have a desire to expand knowledge about related topics.
Must have own transportation, possess a valid driver’s license, and have adequate insurance.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Working Conditions
The Education Facilitator works primarily in the office and school classrooms with exceptions for outreach and events. Remote work may be approved as per the policy set out in the employee handbook.
Hours
This is a part-time (30 hours) position and is subject to renewal. Hours are flexible, in order to meet the needs of the position, and will require availability during school hours. For example, facilitators may be in a school teaching for 40 hours one week, and work only 20 hours the next week within a pay period.
This position may also require intermittent travel several times throughout the calendar year. As professional development opportunities arise, the education team would potentially need to travel outside of the greater Wichita area over the duration of 2-4 consecutive business days.
