Electrical Estimator
The Electrical Estimator will perform tasks necessary to prepare accurate bid estimates, write proposals, perform basic design functions and maintain customer contact required to secure new business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of bid forms, bonds, pre-qualification forms, etc.
- Reads and interprets bidding documents in order to produce accurate estimates that will enable Lywood Electric to secure profitable contracts.
- Performs take-off of electrical components, branch circuits, feeders, raceways, dimensions, etc.
- Estimates job man hours and prepares pricing sheets and job summaries.
- Ensures that bids are prepared and delivered on time.
- Reviews successful bids with project management to establish work scope and methods used on projects.
- Reviews contract documents to ensure the scope of work is correct.
- Attends pre-bid meetings and evaluates job site conditions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Valid State Issued Driver’s License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings.
Education & Experience required
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Journeyman Electrician’s license or previous estimating experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
