Your Impact:
Responsibilities:
- Build ground and flight test articles and instrumentation according to build documentation provided by lab engineering.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals.
- Use of small manual tools (i.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.).
- Use of powered hand tools (i.e. drills, Dremels, etc.)
- It is not expect that the student use large power tools (i.e. bandsaws, disk sanders, etc.)
- Use of handheld test equipment like multimeters, pressure transducers, DAQs, etc…
- Scanning and filing of documentation.
- Carrying and picking up materials between buildings.
Environment:
- You will be working in labs that develop and produce heat shield materials as well as design and implement heat shield instrumentation within material test articles.
- These labs are currently supporting NASA’s missions to Mars and the Moon.

Education, Training, & Experience Required:
- The minimum educational requirement for this position is that the student is attending high school.
- Training will be provided on the use of small hand tools, instrumentation, and lab safety practices.
