Summary:
Northern Trust is expanding its ETF servicing capabilities and seeking an AP Servicing Specialist to support the creation and redemption of ETF shares by Authorized Participants (APs)—a critical function for maintaining ETF liquidity and pricing.
This individual manages the full lifecycle of ETF orders, oversees order flow systems and controls, and ensures accurate data exchange across APs, issuers, and internal teams.
You’ll play a key role in refining servicing procedures, resolving operational issues, and advising clients on ETF market strategies. By driving operational excellence and strengthening AP relationships, you’ll help position Northern Trust as a leading provider in the evolving ETF servicing space.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operational processes related to ETF creation/redemption workflows, ensuring seamless coordination between Northern Trust, issuer clients, distributors, and APs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on Northern Trust’s North American ETF AP servicing, guiding the evolution from current state to industry leadership.
- Analyze existing and proposed systems and procedures to define technical business requirements and collaborate with IT and operations teams for implementation.
- Design and enforce ETF-specific controls and procedures to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.
- Develop and maintain internal and external service level documentation, including robust methods for performance measurement and reporting.
- Manage the AP agreement execution process, implementing policies and controls to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Address and resolve client and AP inquiries related to ETF servicing activities.
- Provide consultative support to ETF clients and prospects exploring market entry or expansion opportunities.
Knowledge and Skills:
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience.
- Significant and demonstrated experience with expertise in ETF transfer agency, order taking, distribution, and/or a AP servicing.
- Deep expertise in ETF products and operations, particularly in creation/redemption order processing and lifecycle management.
- Strong process orientation with the ability to leverage technology and operations to scale ETF servicing capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High adaptability and flexibility in dynamic environments.
- Advanced technical and systems knowledge.
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale change initiatives.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across the organization and influence senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational efficiency through metrics and performance management.
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience.
- Significant and demonstrated experience with expertise in ETF transfer agency, order taking, distribution, and/or authorized participant (AP) servicing.
