Job Title: Event & Beverage Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Sales and Events
Job Summary:
Coordinate all aspects and duties related to beverage services for public and private events and the on-site event management of Fernbank events.
Major Functions:
- Manage all aspects of special event beverage operations, including, but not limited to ordering, inventory, budgeting, and the reporting of beverage consumption and costs of goods for each event.
- Manage all part-time beverage staff, including, but not limited to hiring, orientation, training, continuing education, scheduling, and overall performance of personnel.
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and vendors to ensure effective cost management, secure donations for fundraising events, and participation in Fernbank After Dark programming.
- Establish and maintain best practice of internal controls for cash handling, inventory, shrinkage elimination and spillage reduction.
- Develop beverage menus, advise on special order quotes, and conduct beverage consultations/tastings with special event clients as needed.
- Accountable for planning and coordinating beverage details for weekly events and communicating expectations with Beverage Supervisors.
- Planning and on-site coordination of Fernbank After Dark, including but not limited to creating drink menus, pre-batching cocktails, collaborating with marketing and education on activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
- Train, mentor, and inspire bartenders to deliver high-quality service and consistent execution.
- On-site coordination of beverage operations for events as needed.
- On-site coordination of events as needed.
- Provide support to Special Events coordinators as needed.
- Ensure that the Museum is in compliance with all local and Georgia State Liquor Laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree and related experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in beverage operations
- Must be available for late and irregular working hours; evening and weekend work
- Exceptional knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages
- Exceptional time management, communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
- Proficient with MS Office
- Strong customer service orientation
- Team player with a professional image, and positive attitude.
