OmniSync is a recipient of eight federal innovation contracts, including SBIR Phase III commercialization contracts, and two subcontracts to prime contractors. Customers include the DoD, Fortune 100/500 companies, VCs, tech-transfer offices, and innovation seeking organizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Events and Business Development Representative to join our team. This role combines event planning and execution with strategic business development to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating exceptional event experiences while identifying and nurturing business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Events Management
- Produce ideas, develop and execute a plan to attend and host promotional events and activities to generate leads, build brand awareness, and increase our reach. Events should include conferences, trade shows, networking events, and webinars.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage event logistics (venue selection, catering, AV, promotional materials, etc.).
- Develop event marketing strategies to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Track ROI for each event and provide post-event reporting and analysis.
- Represent the company at events, ensuring professional and engaging interactions with attendees.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, prospecting, and networking.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential partners, sponsors, and clients.
- Schedule and conduct discovery meetings with prospective clients to understand their needs.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align outreach efforts and support strategic goals.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, contacts, and communications in HubSpot.
- Perform other duties, research, and special projects, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn, bonus points if you have previous startup experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related work experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in event planning, business development, or a related role.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency with HubSpot.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple projects with various urgency and deadlines.
- English fluency with exquisite written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and engage with partners.
- Able to work and adapt to an ever-evolving workplace and company.
- Work hard, have fun, and delight everyone you interact with.
Ability to travel for events with cultural awareness as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B marketing or sales environments.
- Familiarity with event platforms and tools.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort with reporting and metrics.
- Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices.
- Knowledgeable of the innovation ecosystem, partners, agencies, and stakeholders.
Job Type: Full-Time Salary is dependent on experience and technical ability: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
