Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Excavator Operator to join our growing team at AAA Septic. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator who enjoys hands-on fieldwork and playing a key role in septic system installations serving residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, and comfortable working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions. This position involves operating excavation equipment to prepare sites, installing septic system components, and ensuring each project is completed accurately, safely, and to a high standard. Successful candidates take pride in maintaining their equipment, working collaboratively with team members, and consistently delivering quality results on every job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate excavation equipment on job sites to prepare for septic system installation.
- Perform pre-shift inspections and routine equipment maintenance to keep machines in good condition.
- Accurately read and follow site plans, blueprints, and grading requirements.
- Install septic tanks, drain fields, distribution boxes, and related system components according to specifications.
- Maintain compliance with local codes, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate effectively with crew members, customers, and inspectors to coordinate work.
- Keep accurate project records and maintenance logs.
- Perform general labor duties as needed when not operating equipment, supporting the crew and ensuring smooth project flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavation equipment.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is required.
- Familiarity with septic system installation processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round, including in dirt, mud, and other challenging site conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
