Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Reports to: Campus Directors
Status: Full-time (some evenings/weekends as needed)
Overview
Joshua Christian Academy is seeking a skilled, dependable, and mission-aligned Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and functionality of our three campuses. This person will ensure our buildings, classrooms, and grounds are safe, clean, and well-maintained to support a thriving Christ-centered learning environment. We’re looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and takes pride in stewarding school facilities with excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Repairs
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance across all campuses.
- Perform general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC troubleshooting.
- Safely operate hand and power tools to complete small-scale projects and emergency fixes.
- Ensure classrooms, offices, and campus facilities remain functional and welcoming.
Facilities Oversight
- Maintain a regular maintenance schedule and prioritize incoming work orders.
- Monitor building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and respond to system issues or failures.
- Track tools, parts, and supplies inventory; restock as necessary.
- Ensure all buildings are compliant with local safety codes and building regulations.
Classroom & Office Support
- Install and securely mount classroom equipment including TVs, whiteboards, and projectors.
- Assemble furniture, desks, shelves, and other fixtures as needed.
- Relocate or reconfigure classroom spaces and staff offices to meet changing needs.
- Support event setup and takedown when required.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Serve as the point of contact for contracted services (e.g., HVAC, snow removal, pest control).
- Schedule and oversee large repair projects, ensuring high-quality work and timely completion.
- Review and approve vendor invoices and coordinate service visits.
Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Maintain fire extinguishers, exit signage, emergency lighting, and other safety equipment.
- Respond promptly to urgent facility issues, including after-hours emergencies when necessary.
- Promote a safe school environment by identifying hazards and resolving them quickly.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities coordination, or a related trade.
- General knowledge and ability in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and basic construction.
- HVAC certification or equivalent training preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently across multiple sites.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between campuses as needed.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in a physically active role.
- Willingness to undergo background check and adhere to school’s Christian mission and values.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
