Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading deliveries.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load and unload products, ensuring they are secured properly during transit.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Route driving and package delivery experience is a REQUIREMENT.
Skills
- Proficient in driving with a valid driver's license; experience with manual transmission is a plus.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation skills using GPS or maps.
- Ability to load and unload heavy items safely, including experience with heavy lifting techniques.
- Knowledge of operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous.
- Previous experience in commercial driving or as a van driver is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling delivery documentation.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients during deliveries.
