We are seeking a technician to be based in the Los Angeles area, preferably within a 10-mile radius of Montebello, Pico Rivera, or Whittier—just north of our base in Norwalk, CA.
While we service all of Southern California, this technician's primary service area will be Los Angeles County, with occasional assignments in surrounding counties as needed.
Job Title: Pump Technician (Submersible, Booster, and Specialty Pump Systems)
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and versatile Pump Technician with expertise in submersible, booster, and specialty pump systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various types of pumps used in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. The role requires proficiency in electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and a strong understanding of pump technology.
A company vehicle will be provided upon completion of training and demonstration of proficiency in the role.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, maintain, and repair submersible, booster, and specialty pump systems according to specifications and safety standards.
2. Conduct routine inspections of pump systems to identify potential issues or malfunctions.
3. Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts, replacing worn components, and cleaning filters for various pump systems.
4. Troubleshoot pump systems to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
5. Repair or replace defective components such as motors, impellers, seals, and control systems for submersible, booster, and specialty pumps.
6. Test pump systems to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and performance.
7. Collaborate with clients to provide technical support, guidance, and recommendations for optimal pump system performance.
8. Document all maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately and thoroughly.
9. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical and mechanical equipment.
10. Stay updated on advancements in pump technology and industry best practices.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training is preferred.
2. Preferred Field experience (working as a Pump Technician or in a similar role, with expertise in controls, submersible, booster, and specialty pump systems.
3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics for various pump systems.
4. Strong understanding of 1 or more of the following: electrical systems, plumbing principles, and/or mechanical equipment related to pump technology.
5. Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
8. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
9. Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
10. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
11. Willingness to undergo additional training and certifications as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Certification in electrical, plumbing or mechanical technology.
2. Previous experience working with submersible, booster, and specialty pump systems.
3. Familiarity with pump testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
4. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations such as OSHA guidelines.
5. Experience in customer service or client-facing roles.
