Murex North America, Inc. seeks a Front Office Consultant in New York, NY.
Duties: • Participate in Service Implementation and Software Upgrade projects for Murex proprietary financial software systems. • Utilize specialized knowledge on financial derivatives and proprietary financial software to participate in implementation and upgrade projects throughout scoping, design, build and validation phases. • Leverage knowledge on different domains such as Financial Markets, Murex proprietary financial systems, Information Technology, and Advanced Mathematics to liaise and communicate effectively with clients’ Sales, Trading, Products and IT teams. • Gather functional and technical requirements and document them using Business Analysis best practices. • Provide a pro-active and seamless support to Murex clients who utilize Front Office Modules of the Murex platform including pricing, structuring, P&L, risk analysis tools, and market data management and analysis. • Participate in the business-as-usual support: follow-up of client open issues through email, CRM portal, phone-calls and on-site visits; engage in meetings (on site or remotely) with clients to understand the use of and issues that they have experienced with Murex platform Front Office Modules. • Provide high-quality support in using the Murex platform for pricing and structuring of complex financial products within trading domain (e.g. FX derivatives, commodity derivatives, interest rates derivatives, credit derivatives and/or equity derivatives). • Analyze the software by checking the stability and consistency of trading modules and products by identifying discrepancies, providing short-term solutions, and anticipating long-term ones. • Liaise closely with the product team, provide corrections and enhancements on the system in compliance with the company’s defect management process and release policy. • Work on model validation of financial products and derivatives trading activities: • Analyze and validate complex domestic, global and region-specific financial products within Murex platform. Products include, but are not limited to, FX derivatives, commodity derivatives, interest rates derivatives, credit derivatives, and equity derivatives. • Validate pricing and risk profile of Trading instruments and related models using complex algebra or numerical methods. • Provide clients with spreadsheets containing proof of systems’ calculation methodology of pricing and risks (e.g. DV01, Vega, Theta). • Provide functional design and technical mapping to tailor Murex solutions to client business needs. • Map efficiently between clients’ needs with sophisticated MX modules and parameters, leveraging knowledge of the system and best practices to tailor Murex solutions to client business needs. • Adapt the system to suit specific clients’ business needs by using proprietary Murex Scripting Language. • Act in the interest of client as liaison with product development division to further develop the system’s functionalities in relation to their businesses’ requirements. • Provide first level of technical support in analyzing and troubleshooting the financial system. • Support client’s IT teams in troubleshooting Murex financial software and document service requests using company’s internal technical tools (e.g. MXEM, PEGA, CRM). • Develop test cases to troubleshoot the system, document defective use cases for fixes by developers. • Test potential fixings, validate solutions, and help clients deploy into their local instances. • Use technologies, including SQL, Unix, and shell scripting, to provide technical support when necessary. • Telecommuting is permitted. • Wage Range: $128,939 - $148,939 per year.
Requires a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field plus 1 year of experience in the following:
- Knowledge of Capital markets and advanced level of understanding on financial derivatives
- Working for a global financial software company
- Utilizing financial experience (business and / or quantitative) in the fields of FX derivatives, commodity derivatives, interest rates derivatives, credit derivatives, and/or equity derivatives.
- Analyzing business requirements into technical specifications.
- Utilizing database/SQL, Python scripting, Excel, VBA macro and UNIX.
In the alternative, Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the following:
- Knowledge of Capital markets and advanced level of understanding on financial derivatives
- Working for a global financial software company
- Utilizing financial experience (business and / or quantitative) in the fields of FX derivatives, commodity derivatives, interest rates derivatives, credit derivatives, and/or equity derivatives.
- Analyzing business requirements into technical specifications.
- Utilizing database/SQL, Python scripting, Excel, VBA macro and UNIX.
