Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in fine dining and sushi preparation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
- Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards for taste, presentation, and hygiene.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate meal preparation and catering events.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary.
- Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques.
- Assist in training kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant or catering industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Familiarity with dietary department protocols is a plus.
- Experience in fine dining establishments is highly desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in food presentation.
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to continuous learning within the food preparation field.
