General Maintenance
Location: Payson, UT
Status: Part-time
Hours: Monday–Friday; 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Pay/Salary: $17.00 /Hour
Summary
As a General Maintenance Technician, you play an essential role in ensuring our college campus remains safe, clean, and fully operational. Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Physical Plant Operations, you will assist in maintaining the grounds, perform essential repairs, and support campus operations. Your work directly contributes to creating a welcoming and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors, helping to maintain a space where learning and growth thrive.

What You’ll Do:
Responsibilities of the General Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Perform landscaping duties, clear snow and ice, and maintain outdoor areas in a safe and well-maintained condition.
- Safely operate light and heavy machinery, including tractors, trucks, and stationary equipment, to complete maintenance tasks.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair campus fixtures, including lighting, plumbing, furniture, and door hardware.
- Assist in transporting and arranging furniture, setting up for events, and ensuring all campus spaces are functional.
- Replace light bulbs, repair broken locks, patch walls, and perform other minor maintenance tasks to ensure a high-quality campus environment.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as mopping, dusting, and trash removal, to maintain a tidy and healthy space.
- Follow all college safety procedures, understand emergency protocols, and contribute to a safe campus environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education Requirements: A high school diploma or the equivalent.
- Experience: At least six months of related experience in maintenance, repair, or facility operations.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate light trucks, tractors, and stationary equipment; knowledge of mechanical systems and basic repair methods.
- Licensing & Certification: A valid Utah Driver’s license is required; ability to obtain forklift certification during employment.
- Hands-On Abilities: Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools for repairs, installations, and general maintenance.
- Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, precision, and efficiency in daily tasks.
