GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Handyman is responsible for maintenance repair/replacement projects identified at any of the Noank Community Support Services’ (NCSS) buildings, grounds, and equipment. This is per diem position with potential to part time or full time.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs the maintenance required by each residential program property in collaboration with the Property Manager.
2. Performs the general repair and renovation of the agency’s property and buildings.
3. Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
4. Purchases supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects, under direction of the Property Manager.
5. Performs all duties while following safety policies and procedures and with knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
6. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities at the request of the Property Manager or the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and knowledge in: trades related to building maintenance and repair, such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; building maintenance procedures and techniques; machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of buildings; blueprint reading and assembly instructions; and hand and power tools.
REPORTS TO: The Handyman is supervised and accountable to the Property Manager.
