This is a seasonal, part-time position.
Pay Range: $ 10,000 – $ 15,000 (commensurate with experience and team assignment).
Includes responsibilities during the summer assessment period and fall competitive season (August–November).

Position Overview:
University High School is seeking motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Coaches to support its second-year Girls Flag Football program, which now competes in the Marin County Athletic League (MCAL). Assistant Coaches will play an essential role in player development, team culture, and daily program operations under the direction of the Program Director and Varsity Head Coach. These are seasonal, part-time roles that span summer assessments through the fall season (August–November).
Ideal candidates will bring a strong understanding of the game, a commitment to educational athletics, and a passion for supporting student-athletes in their growth both on and off the field.

Skills and Abilities:
- Assist in planning and executing practices that align with program goals and team culture.
- Teach and reinforce fundamentals, strategies, and rules of flag football.
- Support the development of a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment.
- Supervise and maintain appropriate student behavior at all practices, games, and team functions.
- Provide leadership and sideline support during games and tournaments.
- Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment across Varsity and JV levels.
- Communicate proactively with student-athletes, families, and staff.
- Maintain a safe and organized practice and game-day environment.
- Ensure compliance with UHS, MCAL, NCS, and CIF rules and regulations.
- Assist in tracking attendance, performance, and equipment needs.
- Attend all scheduled practices, games, meetings, and events as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience, preferably in football, flag football, or another team sport.
- Strong knowledge of flag football fundamentals, rules, and game strategies.
- Playing experience in flag or tackle football is a plus.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- Willingness to complete any required CIF/NCS coaching certifications.
