Job Summary:
Experienced and strategic Category Manager to develop and lead a category management strategy for our Myopia Management portfolio. This role is pivotal in building and driving a holistic category framework that spans myopia control soft contact lenses, orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses, and myopia management glasses. As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for defining recommended product assortments that optimize clinical outcomes and ensure category profitability. You will collaborate cross-functionally to align the category with both market needs and company goals, setting the stage for long-term growth in this important and rapidly evolving category.
- Category Strategy Development:
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive category management strategy for myopia management, setting a roadmap that includes new product and category introductions, market expansion, consumer adoption, and profitability.
- Define short- and long-term category goals, including objectives around clinical outcomes, customer education, and market leadership.
- Portfolio Management:
- Regularly assess the CooperVision product assortment to adapt to evolving consumer needs, emerging scientific research, and competitor activity, ensuring our offerings remain positioned at the forefront of innovation.
- Partner with product development, R&D, and regulatory teams to evaluate new products, services, and technologies for inclusion with portfolio roadmap.
- Consumer & Market Insights:
- Review consumer research to understand the needs and pain points of different consumer segments, such as parents of young children, teens, and young adults with myopia. Conduct new research as necessary.
- Analyze industry trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities, market gaps, and areas for differentiation within the category.
- Clinical Outcome Alignment:
- Incorporate clinical outcomes and evidence-based data into the category framework to drive product positioning and customer communication strategies.
- Profitability & Pricing Strategy:
- Establish a pricing framework that balances competitive positioning, profitability, and accessibility.
- Define promotional strategies that aligns with category objectives, ensuring pricing incentives align with the clinical and business goals of myopia management.
- Go-to-Market Strategy & Distribution:
- Support Senior Commercial director in the development and execution of a robust go-to-market strategy, collaborating with sales, marketing, and clinical teams to maximize reach and adoption.
- Identify and manage key distribution channels, including optometry, ophtalmology, optical retailers, and potential for online platforms to drive category growth.
- Performance Management:
- Set and track KPIs for the category, including market share, profitability, clinical outcome success, and customer satisfaction.
- Regularly analyze performance data to assess the effectiveness of the category strategy, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven adjustments.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., global key accounts, marketing, sales, R&D, clinical affairs) to align on goals, initiatives, and performance metrics.
- Lead category management meetings, providing insights and guidance to ensure alignment across all teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven expertise in building category management frameworks that include product assortment, profitability analysis, and clinical outcome alignment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, market trends, and consumer insights to shape strategic decisions.
- Demonstrated experience developing go-to-market strategies and working with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Work Environment:
- This role will be based in the Victor, NY office, with some global travel required (10-15%)
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in category management, product marketing, or a related role in the healthcare, medical device, or consumer goods industry. Experience with ophthalmology, optometry, or myopia management products is highly desirable.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $112,979.00 and $150,639.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
