Amen Clinics are outpatient health care clinics that have been providing mental wellness strategies to patients of all ages since 1989. We offer patient-first experiences and customized solutions to an array of behavioral and psychiatric conditions. Amen Clinics employs an array of healthcare professionals across our nationwide locations, including psychiatrists, integrative physicians, nutritionists, therapists, and wellness coaches. Job Description and Purpose:
A Grant Writer needs to be passionate, purpose-driven, and will help drive our brain health revolution by unlocking new funding opportunities that directly support transformational care, pioneering research, and educational access. The ideal candidate will align with the core values and brain-healthy culture of Amen Clinics and thrive in a purpose-driven, fast-paced environment. This role is instrumental in securing funding that fuels clinical innovation, research, educational outreach, and programs with the resources needed to fulfill our mission: ending the concept of mental illness by changing how the world treats the brain.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
- Craft grant narratives that reflect Amen Clinics’ commitment to brain-healthy living, whole-person care, and outcomes that change lives.
- Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, educators, and researchers to articulate program needs, budgets, and expected outcomes.
- Manage the full lifecycle of grant submissions from concept to submission, including narratives, logic models, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Track grant deadlines and manage follow-ups, including reporting and renewals.
- Write clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored to funder interests.
- Align grant proposals with current Amen Clinics initiatives, including BRIGHT MINDS, brain imaging research, educational curricula, and community outreach, ensuring each submission advances our mission of transforming mental health through brain science.
- Ensure all submitted materials meet funder and compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized documentation of all submissions, progress, and outcomes.
- Contribute to the strategy for expanding the funding portfolio and impact.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3+ years of proven success in grant writing for nonprofits, healthcare, or academic institutions.
- Passion for brain health, lifestyle medicine, and preventative care strongly preferred.
- Strong portfolio of successful six- and seven-figure proposals.
- Proficiency with AI and modern data tools to streamline research, automate opportunity tracking, and optimize lead generation for grants.
- Experience interpreting and responding to NOFOs (Notices of Funding Opportunity) from federal agencies such as NIH, SAMHSA, HRSA, or the Department of Education.
- Demonstrated ability to secure funding across a range of sectors, including government, private foundations, and corporate philanthropy.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Health, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- Grant writing certification (e.g., GPCI, NGMA) is a plus.
- Experience drafting proposals that emphasize scalability - e.g., national program expansion, AI-powered platforms, or multi-site clinical studies.
- Familiarity with grant management systems for tracking proposals, deadlines, and reporting.
- Excellent writing, research, and storytelling skills.
- Experience working with research, clinical, or education teams is a plus.
- Self-starter with exceptional organization and time management abilities.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
