We are seeking a Grant Writer / Grant Specialist to identify funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and help us secure grants to expand our programs and reach more families in need of quality home care.
Position Overview:
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to government agencies, foundations, and private funders. The ideal candidate has a successful track record of securing grants in the healthcare, aging, social services, or nonprofit space—especially those related to home care, caregiver support, senior services, or Medicaid-funded programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities at the local, state, and federal level, as well as from private foundations and community-based funders.
- Write clear, compelling, and tailored grant proposals aligned with the mission and services of the agency.
- Coordinate and prepare all supporting documents required for grant submissions (budgets, letters of support, agency information, etc.).
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications and reports.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to understand funding needs and priorities.
- Track grant performance, reporting deadlines, and compliance requirements.
- Build relationships with grant-making organizations and stay informed on funding trends in the home care and senior services space.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in grant writing with a successful record of awarded grants (preferably in healthcare, senior services, or social services).
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
- Ability to interpret grant guidelines and align proposals with funder priorities.
- Familiarity with public health, eldercare, home care, or related community services is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or related field (preferred but not required with strong experience).
Preferred Experience (not required but a plus):
- Experience applying for Medicaid Waiver, HCBS, or aging-related government grants.
- Knowledge of CMS, Medicare/Medicaid, or community health funding.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations or healthcare providers.

Pay: From $46,720.06 per year
Expected hours: 20 per week
