Role:
APV is seeking an experienced Graphic Artist/Multi-media Designer to support the design and delivery of digital training solutions for a Department of Defense customer. This role is ideal for a person looking to apply their talents in graphical arts to create 2D and 3D illustrations that enhance digital and paper-based training products. Work performed by the candidate will be performed from home, with daily and periodic online (MS Teams) meetings to discuss milestones and progress. A candidate hired in the local Panama City, FL, area may occasionally (once or twice per month) be asked to meet at the customer location to participate in relevant meetings.
Duties:
The Graphic Artist/Multimedia Designer will work collaboratively as a member of a multi-functional Instructional Design Team (IDT) to:
- Design and develop high-quality 2D and 3D graphics and animations to support digital and print-based instructional products.
- Produce visual content for use in storyboards, websites, and marketing materials aligned with government and brand standards.
- Ensure visual content meets accessibility guidelines, including Section 508 color palette requirements.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, SMEs, and other IDT members to align visuals with training objectives.
- Participate in LMS testing and quality reviews to verify integration and visual consistency across courseware.
Education:
- An Associate’s degree or higher in Graphic Arts is required; 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
Required Experience and Skills:
- At least 3 years of experience supporting graphic design projects.
- Experience in 2D and 3D illustration and digital rendering for training or educational use.
- Demonstrated portfolio of relevant design work.
- 2D and 3D rendering, both analog and digital, utilizing modern graphic design software.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Section 508 requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with military education/training environments or prior military service
- Skills in videography and photography
