Job Overview
A well-established local property management company is seeking a full-time Lead Groundskeeper to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities, contributing to a safe and pleasant environment. This year-round position is responsible for overseeing grounds maintenance at multiple commercial properties, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout all seasons. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in maintenance management.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and working alongside a team to perform all aspects of grounds care, including:
- Lawn mowing, trimming, and cleanups
- Tree pruning and seasonal landscaping
- Snow plowing, salting, and winter maintenance of walkways and parking areas
- Trash pickup and general outdoor upkeep
- Supervising, scheduling, and training grounds staff and seasonal labor
- Maintaining, repairing, and coordinating use of landscaping and snow removal equipment
- Planning and coordinating daily tasks, vendor relations, and supply orders
- Working closely with property and facility managers to support maintenance and service goals
- Responding to maintenance requests, emergencies, and tenant concerns with professionalism
- Ensuring safe work practices and adherence to company policies
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of grounds maintenance or landscaping experience
- Supervisory or crew leadership experience required
- Degree in horticulture, turf management, landscape design or related field is a plus
- Familiarity with grounds equipment maintenance, snowplows, mowers, and small tools
- Strong customer service and effective communication skills, both verbally & in writing
- Capable to work outdoors in all seasons
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Knowledge of project management principles is beneficial for overseeing various initiatives within the grounds maintenance scope
- A commitment to safety standards and practices within all maintenance activities is crucial
