Job Description
Skyborne Airline Academy is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Group Learning and Development Trainer to lead the design and delivery of innovative non-technical training and engagement programs for cadet pilots and staff. This role is pivotal in supporting pilot development, airline readiness, and fostering a culture of engagement, inclusion, and high performance across our global operations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in personal development training, human factors, and employee engagement—paired with a deep understanding of airline operations and selection processes.
1. Non-Technical Training & Personal Development
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps in personal and leadership development.
- Design and deliver high-impact sessions and workshops covering:
- Crew Resource Management (CRM)
- Communication & Leadership
- Conflict Resolution & Emotional Intelligence
- Stress Management, Resilience, and Professional Conduct
- Provide one-on-one coaching and small group mentoring to cadets and staff.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using measurable outcomes.
2. Airline Readiness & Selection Preparation
- Develop and execute structured airline preparation programs focused on:
- Brand representation and customer experience awareness
- Public announcement (PA) communication skills
- Professional conduct, feedback delivery, and schedule/roster awareness
- Facilitate mock selection exercises including:
- CV & cover letter preparation
- Group assessments, HR interviews, and aptitude testing
- Psychometric assessments and scenario-based evaluations
- Maintain active partnerships with airline recruitment teams to ensure alignment with current selection criteria and expectations.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture Initiatives
- Lead the expansion and delivery of the "Reach Higher" program across Skyborne campuses.
- Drive initiatives to improve employee morale, recognition, inclusion, and development.
- Coordinate staff feedback tools such as surveys and pulse checks; analyze results and provide actionable recommendations.
- Partner with HR, department heads, and senior leadership to embed engagement into onboarding, team culture, and leadership routines.
- Facilitate team-building events, recognition programs, and professional growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a learning & development, organizational development, or employee engagement role, preferably within aviation or the airline industry.
- Demonstrated success designing and delivering soft-skills and leadership training.
- Proven ability to coach cadets or staff for airline selection and assessment processes.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, including public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience liaising with airline recruitment teams and internal senior leaders.
- Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Resources, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certified CRM Trainer (EASA/FAA recognized) or equivalent.
- Experience with digital learning tools, e-learning platforms, or blended learning environments.
- Background in employee well-being, cultural change, or DEI initiatives.
- Familiarity with selection methodologies such as competency-based interviewing or assessment centre facilitation.
Additional Information
Must be able to present authorization to work in the United States.
Benefits:
- Full Time, Monday-Friday
- Salary Range: $70,000 to 80,000 annually
