Job Summary:
The Hand Router Operator is responsible for using hand routers to shape, cut, and trim materials according to detailed specifications and blueprints. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality results. The operator will have experience with hand routers, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Operate Hand Router:
- Set up and operate hand routers to perform tasks such as cutting, shaping, and trimming materials.
- Adjust router settings and attachments as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Material Preparation:
- Prepare materials for routing by measuring, marking, and securing them as needed.
- Ensure that materials are properly aligned and supported during routing operations.
Quality Control:
- Inspection & Adjustment:
- Inspect routed materials to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments to the router and work processes to correct any issues and achieve high-quality results.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of routing operations, including measurements, settings, and any issues encountered.
- Report any defects or discrepancies to the supervisor and follow up with corrective actions.
Work Area Management:
- Cleanliness & Safety:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste and debris.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on hand routers, including cleaning, lubricating, and checking for wear.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Team Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and equipment status.
- Collaborate with other operators and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and meet production goals.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge:
- Hand Router Operation:
- Familiarity with hand router tools, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Understanding of material properties and routing methods.
- Blueprint Reading:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude:
- Strong mechanical skills for operating and maintaining hand routers.
- Ability to make precise adjustments and troubleshoot issues.
- Attention to Detail:
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate routing and high-quality results.

Physical Demands:
- Physical Requirements:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
