Job description

Passionate about power electronics? Join us as a Hardware Development Engineer and help create next-generation pump control solutions in a collaborative and inclusive team.

What you will be doing

As a key part of the DBS DCW Control Box team, you'll create impact by taking end-to-end ownership of power-electronics hardware that makes pumps smarter, safer and more efficient for millions of users worldwide.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Design electronic hardware for pump control systems, including mains input, power-conversion and motor-control circuitry with full consideration of protection, derating and thermal management
  • Plan and conduct hardware testing, verification and validation to demonstrate compliance with product requirements, electrical-safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyse test data, troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes and verify design improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing and compliance teams to integrate hardware into complete product solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, test reports, DFMEA and safety FMEA
  • Support prototype builds and contribute actively to design reviews throughout the product-development lifecycle

What makes you a great fit

Above all, you're a hands-on electronics engineer with 2-5 years of electronics development experience, a structured approach to problem-solving and a strong quality and safety mindset. We'd also imagine that you are/have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electronics or electrical engineering with 2-5 years of electronic hardware development experience (schematic design, component selection, prototyping, testing and documentation)
  • Practical experience with power-electronics design, preferably involving mains-powered AC equipment, including analog/digital circuit design and power-conversion principles
  • Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analysers, electronic loads, safety-test equipment) and circuit-simulation tools such as LTspice
  • Understanding of electrical-safety principles and a quality mindset covering robustness, reliability, EMC and manufacturability

It's a plus if you also:

  • Experience with motor-drive electronics, inverter topologies or PCB design using EDA tools such as Altium Designer, PADS or OrCAD
  • Exposure to EMC/EMI design, testing and compliance activities
  • Experience with DFMEA, safety FMEA, design reviews and supporting product industrialisation or manufacturing

Why you'll love working here

  • A working environment built around your needs, with flexible hours, home working opportunities and parental support.
  • Annual bonuses, health insurance and a strong focus on well-being activities.
  • Three days' additional paid leave for volunteering.
  • On-demand training and structured development programmes to support your growth.

Valuing our differences helps us see possibilities where others can't. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from all abilities, experiences, and backgrounds. As part of our commitment to a safe and compliant hiring process, final candidates may be required to undergo a background check, subject to applicable local laws and regulations.

The story of Grundfos began in 1945 in a small cellar in Bjerringbro, Denmark, where founder Poul Due Jensen established a company originally named 'Bjerringbro Pressestøberi og Maskinfabrik' (Bjerringbro Die-Casting and Machine Factory). Driven by a personal need to pump water for his own farm, Jensen created his first pump, setting in motion a journey of relentless innovation. What started as a modest local operation quickly evolved as the company pioneered new technologies, including the first circulator pump, which revolutionized the heating industry. In 1967, the company officially adopted the name Grundfos, a nod to one of its early products. Over the decades, Grundfos expanded far beyond the Danish borders, growing into a global leader in advanced pump solutions and water technology. Today, the company is owned by the Grundfos Foundation, a structure that ensures long-term independence and a steadfast commitment to its core purpose: pioneering solutions to the world's water and climate challenges. With a presence in over 60 countries, Grundfos continues to push the boundaries of energy efficiency and sustainability, improving the quality of life for people around the world.
