The Head of Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, and Claims will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the management and administration of bankruptcy, foreclosure, and claims processes within UWM. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and minimizing financial losses. This role will lead a team of professionals and work closely with various departments to develop and implement effective strategies and practices.
This position requires 100% on-site attendance at our headquarters in Pontiac, MI.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Provide leadership and direction for the bankruptcy, foreclosure, and claims departments, ensuring all functions are performed in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to optimize the management of bankruptcy, foreclosure, and claims processes.
  • Oversee the review, analysis, and processing of bankruptcy cases, foreclosure actions, and claims to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, to address complex cases and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure UWM remains compliant and competitive.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Establish and maintain metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing regular updates on departmental performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Represent UWM in industry forums, conferences, and other professional settings.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, legal studies, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, JD) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage servicing, with a focus on bankruptcy, foreclosure, and claims management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing bankruptcy, foreclosure, and claims processes.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing large teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and technology platforms.
