Summary
We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team at Hospice of Redmond. In this role, you will ensure that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and standards related to hospice care. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest level of compliance while supporting our mission to provide exceptional care to our community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Compliance and Quality Improvement Activities:
- Perform compliance and quality improvement activities for Hospice of Redmond, working closely with the hospice leadership to prepare for and ensure that desired compliance and quality outcomes are achieved, through ongoing reviews, training, and oversight.
- Attend regular compliance and quality networking meetings building community and knowledge.
- Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement ongoing compliance and QAPI initiatives and monitor organization compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
· Generates reports and extrapolates appropriate, current, and applicable statistical data for Hospice of Redmond Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, CAHPS, HIS, chart review and other mandated or assigned reporting as needed.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance and conduct annual audits to ensure adherence to HIPAA compliance standards.
Survey and Audit Preparation:
- Prepare the organization for all levels of surveys and audits, conducts mock surveys as requested, and oversees arrangements with surveyors, both federal and state.
- Perform clinical chart audits to ensure patient records exhibit evidence of quality multi- disciplinary care, meeting federal, state, and accrediting requirements.
- Provides feedback to the clinical team to maintain a path of improvement and excellence.
· Work collaboratively with clinical managers to ensure that documentation is complete and consistent with care and reflects regulatory and legal requirements.
· Review admission and discharge paperwork for accuracy.
· Maintain, update, and provide staff training for the Hospice of Redmond Emergency Plan and Communication Plan.
Quality Program Development and Monitoring:
- Develop, update, refine, and oversee the implementation and monitoring of the organization’s Quality Program (QAPI), ensuring that quarterly QAPI reports are completed by each department and collating quarterly and annual reports for the compliance program.
- Consistently evaluates and updates the company’s compliance and quality program.
Training and Education:
- Develops, coordinates, and provides training and education programs for compliance, emergency operations, HIPAA, and employee orientation.
- Monitors, updates, and provides staff training for Hospice of Redmond Emergency Operations Plan and Communication Plan.
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to promote and ensure employee orientation, competency, and in-service education programs regarding compliance, quality, safety, and infection control.
Knowledge and Competency:
· In-depth knowledge of current federal and state hospice regulations, including quality improvement and multi-disciplinary patient care.
· Efficient multi-tasking and priority management.
· Strong teamwork and independent work skills, especially under pressure.
· Maintain confidentiality as required by laws and regulations.
· Proficiency in computer software and hardware to perform EMR lead super-user responsibilities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree preferred; experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Experience in quality improvement and compliance required.
· Experience in hospice operations, with clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
· Understanding of federal and state laws and regulations related to hospice programs.
· Self-directed, with minimal supervision, is imperative.
· Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
· Strong planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement effective staff education and training programs.
· Commitment to serving the needs of the terminally ill.
· Intermediate skills in data analysis, medical software, and Microsoft Suite.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
