Overview:
Care Hospice is seeking an Regional Compliance Registered Nurse for our West Division. Our West Division includes our Hospice of the West programs located in Arizona (Casa Grande, Mesa, Phoenix, Prescott, & Tucson), Hospice of New Mexico program located in Albuquerque, NM, and Continuum Hospice programs locates in California (Capitola, Concord, Napa, & Petaluma).

The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospice registered nurse (RN) who has compliance experience, a passion for hospice, a strong operational background, and lives in Arizona or New Mexico. This position involves traveling within the division approximately 75% of the time.

The Regional Compliance Nurse (RN) partners with the Program Director and Site Leadership to ensure the development and ongoing administration of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. The Regional Compliance Nurse (RN) monitors compliance with current laws and regulations, process improvement initiatives, and the implementation of clinical best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Champion the organization’s readiness for CMS and ACHC surveys by providing on-site support, conducting audits and data analysis, benchmarking, shadowing staff, leading mock surveys, joining interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, and participating in real-time surveys as needed.
  • Stay up to date and ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and all applicable state and federal hospice regulations.
  • Monitor and uphold adherence to Medicare’s Conditions of Participation and state healthcare regulations to ensure exceptional standards of care.
  • Support smooth transitions for newly acquired hospice sites by helping integrate compliance and quality standards.
  • Identify training opportunities and relay clinical staff development needs to Hospice leadership for action.
  • Actively support the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program by motivating teams, identifying areas for improvement, assisting in action plan development, educating staff, and ensuring follow-up to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in State of Practice required.
  • Must reside in Arizona or New Mexico and be willing to travel up to 75% within the regions.
  • Minimum of 2 years healthcare quality and compliance experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years hospice experience required.
  • Strong technical skills to include proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR Systems, and the use and development of databases. Netsmart experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills in QAPI management, strategic planning, and/or program and staff development.
$100,000 - $120,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
