Hotel Sylvia will be opening this month. We have started the process of re-staffing the hotel in preparation for opening. This hotel is intended to allow guests to disconnect and reconnect with what matters. Drawing inspiration and dedication in fostering a sense of community within the literary and artistic circles of the last era, we strive to create a space free from the distractions of daily life. We aim to evoke a simpler time when human interaction and genuine experiences take precedence, allowing our guests to rewind and rediscover living in the moment.

Job Summary:
We seek a friendly and professional Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our team in Newport, OR. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to our guests, checking guests in and out of the hotel, answering phone calls, making reservations, and handling any guest inquiries or issues. As an added amenity, front desk employees will also serve cafe beverages.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Check guests in and out of the hotel
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department
- Make and confirm reservations for guests
- Be willing to upsell room styles, amenities, and other offerings such as gift shop items
- Handle any guest inquiries or issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure the front desk area is clean and organized at all times
- Make and serve latte-style beverages
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google operating systems and hotel management software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must obtain a food handler's card
